White or off-white powder，odorlessness, easily soluble in water. Aqueous solution appears acid. Insoluble in alcohol, acetone and ammonia, Easilydeliquescent in the air.low toxicity,pungent smell decomposing temperature is 280oC

Mainly used Nitrogen and sulfur fertilizer.ammonium sulphate is stable and less hygroscopic as compared with ammonium nitrate and ammonium carbonate.It is also used in textile,leather and medicine.
